About me

I’m a polar researcher and self-taught printmaker and photographer based in The Netherlands. I became fascinated by the polar regions during my studies, which have taken me to both the Arctic and Antarctic. My research focuses on polar meteorology and climate, combining field observations with atmospheric modelling to better understand these changing environments.

Alongside my studies and scientific work, I’ve always been drawn to photography and other visual arts. While working on my PhD in New Zealand, I discovered printmaking and began creating artworks inspired by each chapter of my thesis. It quickly became my favourite form of art, and since then I’ve been exploring many different techniques — from drypoint on recycled cartons to linocuts and traditional etching on metal. Through both research, printmaking, and photography, I aim to learn from the polar regions and share their importance and beauty with others.
